Darrell “Bubba” Wingate Britton, age 66, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016.

Darrell “Bubba”, a native of Halifax County, was born to the late Crawford Wingate Britton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Floyd Britton who passed away on October 7, 2016.

He was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School class of 1968, and was a longtime employee of Halifax Farmers Supply. “Bubba” loved going to the 8th Street Dart Room, playing corn hole, and wood working where he was very gifted at making very beautiful things. He never met a stranger wherever he went.

“Bubba” is survived by his daughter, Amy Britton Crawford and her husband, Nathaniel, of Roanoke Rapids; his mother, Catherine Floyd Britton, of Roanoke Rapids; his sister, Linda B. Crawley and her husband, Jarman, of Roanoke Rapids; his girlfriend, Carla Cozort, of Gaston; his nieces, Sarah C. Taylor and her husband, Joel, of Roanoke Rapids, and Karen C. Anderson and her husband, Jon, of Henderson; his two grandchildren, Madison Crawford and Jacob Crawford.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services of Roanoke Rapids, and other times at the home of his daughter, Amy.
